Castle Marinas acquires Welsh marina
By IBI Magazine
Castle Marinas Ltd, owner of five inland and two coastal marinas in the UK, has acquired the historic Port Dinorwic Marina (Y Felinheli) in northwest Wales.
Located in the Menai Strait, the marina is said to be one of the safest and most secure places for mooring in the UK. It has full facilities, including fuelling and a boatyard with 20-tonne crane, as well as onshore boat storage, a pub-restaurant and shops.
"We are delighted that Dinorwic Marina is now part of the Castle Marinas Group," says operations director Sam Bourne. "Its superb location offers berth holders excellent cruising potential including the north Wales coast, Anglesey, Isle of Man and the east coast of Ireland."
Castle Marinas was set up in 2006 to invest in and operate marinas throughout the UK and Europe. Its five inland marinas are Kings Bromley in Staffordshire, Ventnor Farm and Wigrams Turn in Warwickshire, Buckden in Cambridgeshire and Nottingham Castle Marina.
Castle's two coastal marinas are Birdham Pool in Chichester Harbour and Royal Clarence at Gosport in Portsmouth Harbour.
