New covered dry-stack at Plymouth
By IBI Magazine/Motor Boat & Yachting
Yacht Havens Ltd has completed a multi-million pound fully enclosed dry-stack facility in Plymouth.
The 11-acre site is situated on the Cattewater, close to Plymouth Sound, and is already an established dry berthing site.
The new enclosed building is capable of stacking over 200 boats in racks up to four high, with each boat weighing up to six tonnes and with a maximum LOA of 12.2m (40ft).
Boats are available for their owners' use at an hour's notice, 365 days a year.
Planning permission has also been granted for seven industrial units, six offices, three large boatsheds, each capable of housing a 16.8m (55ft) yacht, and a facilities building that will include offices, retail units, a cafe, showers, toilets, a members' lounge, boat sales and the site office.
"With the current price of an annual dry-stack berth cheaper than a marina berth, it is a great alternative to the already oversubscribed marinas and customers will have all the benefits of keeping their boats out of the water and weather in a fully enclosed insulated building," says Yacht Haven Quay.
